Storyline:
Gehraiyaan is a 2022 Indian romantic drama film directed by Shakun Batra, who also co-wrote the script with Ayesha Devitre, Sumit Roy, and Yash Sahai. Deepika Padukone, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Ananya Panday, Dhairya Karwa, and Naseeruddin Shah and Rajat Kapoor appear in the film, which is produced by Dharma Productions, Viacom18 Studios, and Jouska Films. The film will be released on Amazon Prime Video on February 11, 2022.
Critics gave it mixed reviews, with acclaim for Padukone and Shah’s performances, music, and cinematography, but criticism for the writing, script, and film’s ending. Alisha “Al” Khanna, a 30-year-old yoga instructor, is developing an app but is having difficulty finding investors while supporting her partner Karan Arora, a jobless writer. Tia “Ti,” Alisha’s cousin, is engaged to Zain Oberoi and has invited the couple to their Alibaug beach villa.
Because of their terrible pasts, Zain and Alisha bond and flirt with each other. Later, Alisha kisses him, later regretting it, but discovers that Karan has enabled Tia to see his work, which hurts her because she had been requesting it for a long time. She lets Zain back in, and they start an affair. Zain convinces his company to invest in Alisha’s app. He tells her that his father was abusive to him and his mother, which prompted his decision to emigrate to America. Karan later proposes to Alisha in front of all of his family and friends, including Tia and Zain, and Alisha accepts.
