Storyline:
Jhund is a 2022 Indian Hindi-language biographical sports film based on the life of NGO Slum Soccer founder Vijay Barse. It is produced by T-Series, Tandav Films Entertainment Pvt.Ltd, and Aatpat Films’ Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Sandip Singh, Raaj Hiremath, Savita Hiremath, Nagraj Manjule, Gargee Kulkarni, and Meenu Arora. Filming began in Nagpur in December 2018. Nagraj Manjule wrote and directed the film, which stars Amitabh Bachchan, Akash Thosar, Rinku Rajguru, and Ankush Gedam.
The film is based on the life of Vijay Barse and tells the story of a sports teacher who, on the verge of retirement, forms a football team of children from a slum neighborhood and how a football game changes their lives. Taran Adarsh, a cinema critic, and trade analyst, tweeted the release date of the film on September 20, 2019. It was later rescheduled until December 13, 2019. The film’s release date was revealed on 21 January 2020: 8 May 2020. The project was postponed again owing to the COVID-19 pandemic. The film’s release date has been delayed until October 2020 while the filmmakers try to overcome copyright issues in court. On March 4, 2022, the film was released.
