Storyline:
Lokesh Kanagaraj directed Master Movie Download, a 2021 Tamil-language action movie. The film was produced by Xavier Britto under his maiden production company XB Film Creators. Vijay Sethupathi and Malavika Mohanan star in the film, while Shanthanu Bhagyaraj and Andrea Jeremiah play supporting roles. J. D. (Vijay) is an alcoholic professor who accepts a three-month teaching job at a juvenile home. He clashes with Bhavani (Vijay Sethupathi), a ruthless gangster who uses children as a scapegoat for his crimes. Vijay was narrated by Lokesh Kanagaraj in May 2019.
After his acceptance, the film launched under his name in August 2019. Kanagaraj was the screenwriter, wrote the screenplay, and composed the dialogues. Pon Parthiban and Rathna Kumar were also credited as co-writers. Principal photography began in October 2019 and finished in February 2020. The entire film was shot in just 129 days across Delhi, Mumbai and Chennai. The film was originally released under the title Thalapathy 64. On 31 December 2019, the official title Master was revealed. Anirudh Ravichander composed the music, and Philomin Raj and Sathyan Sooryan do the cinematography and editing.
Master was originally planned to be released theatrically on April 9, 2020. However, it was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic that struck India. Instead of releasing the film on any media outlet, the makers decided to wait for a theatrical release. The film was finally released in cinemas on 13 January 2021. This came just one day before Pongal.
